When we talked about defining success last week, I told you that money doesn't matter. I'm going to extend that notion this week. Time is a fixed asset. We all get the same amount no matter who we are. How can we make the most of it? I have been a big Alton Brown fan for many years. This week, we are going to adopt one of his rules about kitchen tools. No More Uni-taskers!! We have a giant, red KitchenAid Stand Mixer. In the realm of kitchen counter space, this thing eats up square footage like Shaquille O'Neal looking for rebounds back in the day. If it wasn't so dadgumed useful it would be a massive eyesore. But that is the trick. The KitchenAid Stand Mixer is not just a mixer. While you can use it to mix ingredients to make cake or other delectable food items, we have done so much more with it through the years. When I decided to take a Zoom Pizza making class during Covid, we used the Stand Mixer to work the dough. Not only did it mix the ingredients, but it also kneaded it. The bowl then allowed us let it rest and ferment as well. At one point my wife decided that making pasta from vegetables would be good for us and got the spiralizer attachment to turn innocent zucchinis into noodles. While this was not one of my favorite things to eat, the KitchenAid was up to the task. Speaking of pasta, the KitchenAid has an attachment that gives us the ability to press and cut pasta once the mixer has done that mixing and kneading. This is a use that both my wife and I have used to make delicious pasta. Are you sensing a theme here?
