I've been using the internet for a long time. I had my first email address more than 30 years ago as a college student. E-commerce wasn't even thought of yet by most people. This thing called Yahoo! ruled the search world at first. Then mighty Google came along.
One thing that has been consistent over that time period is change. The way we do business certainly has, and how people find us has even more! Since evolution doesn't stop, let's talk about where we are today and how we can use it to our advantage this week.
For some of you, this may come as a surprise. One of my favorite 80s songs is by Bruce Hornsby. The Way It Is was released in 1986 when I was an impressionable teenager. I would love to tell you that I understood all of the meaning from the song lyrics back then, but it was mostly the catchy tune and the chorus.

Bruce was discussing joblessness and a color barrier for hiring practices. That chorus has been in my head for the last 38 years. Some things will never change.
One of the things that will never change on the internet is how much and how quickly it can change. Because it only requires one piece of code to change how a website that is consumed and used by millions, its effects are far reaching.
